Major Airports of Turkey
There are a few good international airports where regular long haul flights as well as chartered flights by tourist operators land. All major towns in Turkey are also well networked by air. So traveling from one part of Turkey to another will not be one of your problems on your next vacation in Turkey.
The most important international airport in Turkey is the Ataturk International Airport in Yesilkoy, on the sea coast of Marmara. This is where most of the long haul flights land. The Esenboga airport in Ankara, the Antalya airport, and the Dalaman Airport also have some international flights, though they cater mostly to the domestic travelers. The Antalya and Dalaman airports have several international flights especially during summer when tourists usually come to Turkey. From the airports, buses run at frequent intervals to take you to the city center.
Turkey abounds in domestic airports. Almost all of them have flights to and from Istanbul and Ankara, so once you land at Istanbul or Ankara you can reach anywhere in Turkey by air. The Milas-Bodrum Airport, the Kaplaner Airport in Diyabakir, the Erzurum Airport, Oguzeli Airport, the Adnan Menderes Airport, the Kars Airport, the Kayseri Airport, the Konya Airport, the Erhac Airport at Matalya, the Trabzon Airport and the Van Airport are some of the other airports which have daily flights to Ankara and Istanbul.
