The Turkish Delight or the lokum actually goes by the name of "rahat lokum". Though not yet confirmed, it is felt that the word lokum is actually a distortion of an Arabic word "rahat-al-hulkum", meaning contentment of the throat in Arabic and a piece of contentment in Turkish.
There is no dearth of people who swear by the Turkish delight and for these loyalists, the Turkish Delight by any other name is still a Turkish Delight.
