Apart from obtaining the visa from the Turkish embassy, you can also purchase it at the port of entry in Turkey. The visa counter at Istanbul airport in Turkey is located on the left side of the passport control area inside the arrival hall. To obtain Turkish visa you need to make the payment in Euros or American dollars. This is because they do not accept credit cards, Turkish Lira or traveler's cheques. The visa fees have to be paid in cash and cash only and it costs Euro10 for Irish and 10 pounds for UK passport holders. The visas issued at the port of entry are sticker type visas, which allow a maximum stay of 90 days in Turkey. If more than one person are traveling on one passport (as in family passport), visa fees is to be paid for each person individually.
