Natural Treasures of Artvin

Artvin is a genuine tourist destination and the possibilities offered by its natural riches are immense. Its lovely landscape has wild forests, mountains, lakes, plateaus and wide rivers offering great scope for adventure sports. Its flora and fauna add to the beauty of the region.

There are several protected parks in the region. Two of them are Karagol Sahara National Park and the Hatila Valley Park. There is the mysterious Gungormez rivulet that starts flowing at night and stops with the rising of the sun.

The Macahel, Papart and Otingo forests have a diverse flora that includes monumental trees. In the Coruh valley, you can see olive tree, peanut pine and other plants survive a Black Sea climate.
