Charges and Costs for Owning a Property in Turkey
It is good to be aware of the various costs involved before you set out to buy property in Turkey so that you can draw up a budget for the purchase. You have to consider the solicitor's fees, translation fees and notary charges, which might amount to 250 GBP on an average. You have to pay 1.5% of the purchase price as an initial purchase tax, 0.5% as the annual purchase tax. The government tax of about 100 GBP and the Community tax of 8 GBP annually also needs to be paid. Apart from this, there is the Utilities connection charge of about 250 GBP and for properties that share facilities, an annual maintenance charge ranging from 80 GBP-500 GBP.
